In-a-gadda-da-vida

I went to see the Raconteurs at the Eden project over the weekend. Vampire weekend were the support act, and both bands pretty much rocked! More pictures to come from the Raconteur beano-weekender, once I have sorted them out. I like the idea that this picture will become ultra-retro in about 25 years time.

person

Part of my alternative route to work on Monday. I didn't here any further news about the 'person under the train'. Oh well.

capturing the moment

I walked past this, thought about it, and then went back to get a picture of it.

A Tramp Shining

Old school tramps, they are quite rare these days. Where did they all go?

Brit Pops finest...

I like the idea that they sit around in the back of the van all day, drinking tea and talking about the good old days.

My name is Big Brother...

Yep, it's that time of year when the TV show Big Brother, rolls it's unsightly scaly-lizard head into town.
Here is a picture of Stu, being interviewed by some cad from Big Brother’s Little Brother. In the same evening I met the Budgie man too, although he looks more like a drunken Spanish sailor from the Franco years to me.
Feel free to check his website out, http://www.budgieman.co.uk/

we're lost in music...

Me Djing, aboard the SS Great Britain in Bristol. I spun a few records at Mr and Mrs Skidmore's wedding last weekend. Possibly playing Nick Kershaw's the riddle, when the picture was taken.

`Cause I headed East to grow up with the country {sic}

I had another night out in the Stone on Wednesday. I went to the What's Cookin' country night, upstairs at the Sheepwalk pub. We where all a little dubious, as we thought it might be fiddly diddly country. Well, we were pleasantly surprised. The band pictured, this was their first gig as one band, so they have yet to name themselves, they went under the name of Dan Raza band. I thought the lead singer had a James Taylor/Gram Parsons look about him. But More importantly, their music was pretty good. I’ll keep you posted.
We also bumped into Mad Mick; photographed with el-Gavin-o. Mad Mick is a character that we used to see back in the day of the M11 link protests. We all thought he was dead...

Who do you love

One from the Callaghan Archive: I took this in London, June 1996.
ISO 3200 + 2 stops, on the good old E6 process.
I was sitting at the bottom of his feet, like a ragabone child. Needless to say, he was pretty darn good...

*uck The Ditch, Roll the Stone

Had a Saturday night out in Leytonstone. Yes, you heard correct.
Fellow Blogger, ‘No Trix in 86’ was Djing at a bar, known as the Luna Lounge. Lots of 80s electronica, mixed with the likes of LCD sound system. Will the 80s revival ever die? Most probably not... Johnny Logic, James and his missus came along too. I think we managed to polish off quite a few cocktails. I have enclosed one of the mosaics at Leytonstone tube station, these were commissioned to commemorate Hitchcock’s birthplace. Yep, not the most inspiring art works to see on the way home from a late night out.
