I read somewhere that if you have green tomatoes at the end of the season, then put them in a transparent container with a banana and then seal tight. Apparently, the banana should give off gasses that will eventually ripen the tomatoes. Failing that, you can make a green tomato chutney.
No need to burn any Virgin policemen, from the main land.
