Do you remember the London Olympics, 2012? These are from a recent bus tour of the site.
It's a big old space and does seem to be resembling Walley World's car park at the moment.
I think it will start to take shape in the spring time. Yes, hard to believe that part of this was once home to Hackney Wick market, a reliable source for pirate software and moody Carhartt jeans.

They had a similar one last year. No one is quite sure what the railings are about. Somebody on Twitter suggested that they might be presents? The tinsel has been supplied by fellow locals trying to liven the poor thing up. I have no idea if a local celeb turned the lights on either? As for the tree, it just appeared one day.
