Winter is coming

Something tells me It's all happening at the zoo.

This time last week, I was at Whipsnade Zoo  . This was a Get-Callaghan folks we get together and with 3 nephews added into the mix, you kind of wonder if the animals are more amused at watching us? That's me holding an elephant poo by the way.

Fine wines and a spot of Mail Art

Amongst the short and curlies of Walthamstow you'll find the Walthamstow Wine Club  .
Through the aid of Twitter  I paid an intriguing visit to one of their wine tasting evenings with the event also being accompanied by an exhibition of Mail Art, curated by Marie-Louise Plum .  If you find yourself amongst the short and curlies, then this is worthy of a visit.

Cup a load of this kid.

The Championship play-off finalWest Ham v Blackpool. We had the pleasure of being in the presence of the Championship play-off trophy-cup-thing. And yep, one of us two in this pic
will be walking away (okay one of our teams will) with it all the way to the Premier League.
My Soccer-ball knowledge is pretty rubbish but if you're unfamiliar with the beautiful game then to put it in perspective, this cup is worth around £90m once you add up all the TV rights and advertising revenue. That's a whole lot to play for... Although both teams have both got a very good edge to win I've put a bet (like I said my football knowledge is rubbish) on 3-0 for the Hammers to win. My thinking is that Ricardo Vaz Te, Carlton Cole and Mark Noble will be punting in the goals come Saturday.
So, Come on you Irons!   I think that's how it goes?

Leica Preview 2012

I Popped along to the Leica preview, 2012. For you camera geeks out there we got to see the Leica M9-P Limited Edition Hermes. This camera was only aloud to be touched by a special Leica employee with special gloves. Also on show was the Leica M-Monochrome, this is the worlds first deditcated full-frame black and white digital camera that packs an 18-megpixel sensor. Yep, pretty geeky stuff.

Looking for Colonel Kurtz, on the River Lea

"Never get out of the boat." Absolutely goddamn right! Unless you were goin' all the way...
Kurtz got off the boat. He split from the whole fuckin' program."

Canoeing with some of the Heave moshers on the River Lea. Going by my Runkeeper App, we did just under 10 miles.

Paul's Boutique, circa May 2009

Don't think I ever put this montage pic onto my blog? Anyway it's a view, circa 2009 of where the Paul's Boutique album cover was shot. I guess the place deserves some form of Beastie Plaque?  The original album cover artwork is below and which I do beleive was taken by Nathanuel Hornblower aka Adam Yauch.  Keeping it 37% Beastie.

Reharsals : The Stow Caledonian Pipe Band.
This is my edit from the other day. I'll be popping in again to get some more shots, I might take some earplugs for when they start playing the bagpipes though.
