78 Derngate

If you ever find yourself in Northampton, then 78 Derngate is worthy of a visit. Montague Jeffery looks worthy of a visit too.

My Old Man

These pics are courtesy of Dave Lane, saxophonist of the Ramblers. He got in touch via the Youtube clip that I uploaded. The top 2 (My Dad is on the far right of the first shot) pics are from their tour in Hamburg, where they played venues such as the Top Ten Club. Apparently, you played an hour on and hour off for pretty much 18/20 hours per day... This would have been around 1962/63 , shortly after The Beatles played there.  I'm guessing the third shot will be around 1963 (50 years go) probably in London somewhere and yep, those are pre-CBS red Fender Stratocasters .

Boon's Brick.

I found this in my garden. Being a London Brick it clearly hasn't traveled to far. However, it does remind me of a friend of mine  Jon Boon, who is living out in L.A. and is originally from North London and for that reason it's pretty much become an ornament. Funny how objects can remind you of people.

Allotment envy

    Neighbour's allotment

 Use the other skip.

Here's one they dug earlier

  And another.

    The mother of all weeds

Raspberry canes. Yes at last, we've finally planted something.

Let their be a harvest for the world. Various stuff that we found growing on our site. We   grilled the spring onions on the bbq with olive oil, pretty tasty.
